Get Paid for Backlinks

Quite often, I get asked how do I attract people to my pages, I say by backlinking and they get confused. So I decided to write a hub about it. This is for those of you who are new to this and have been hit with all this Internet jargon and need a little help deciphering it all, if you are comfortable with the term backlink you may skip this section.

Quite simply put, backlinks are links placed on external websites which point to your articles. Yes, that is all they are - easy wasn't it?

What are Backlinks used for?

The aim of placing backlinks or backlinking is to make your articles visible to search engines, so as to move you up the results page in places like google. The more sites that link to your site, the better you will be at achieving a higher ranking.

For those of you who are still confused, the higher your site appears in Google and other search engines, the more likely it is to bring visitors to your page.

How do I backlink?

Backlinking is easy, all you need to do is post your link in the comments section of a website or blog, with some sort of meaningful comment. You can also put your link on email signatures and forum signatures, so that when you post, your link will be displayed.

Be careful not to spam as you will only annoy your host and have your links deleted. Try to make relevant comments and put your own links in your signature file.

Where can I backlink?

There are a whole host of sites that you can back link on. I am going to list a few here to give you an idea. Warning - this section contains referral links.

So how do I make money from my backlinks?

Well there are 2 ways that you are going to achieve this. Firstly, as I said above, backlinking will bring traffic to your pages. Hopefully, the more traffic you have the more revenue your pages will generate for you.

There is a second string to this though. I used Shetoldme.com & Xomba.com. Which actually give me the opportunity to earn from my links. Yes, you can actually earn money from your backlinks.

All you need to do is join these sites and put in your Google AdSense publisher code. Each time you post a bookmark, it will display your ads on that page so you have a chance of earning from your backlinks.

You do not need to post links to your own articles either, in fact you can post links to any website you like. However, please remember the primary aim is to get traffic to YOUR site, so try posting backlinks to your own work first. Once you are happy with that, then post anything you like to your heart's content.
